Diana came to terrazzo by way of music and design: she grew up in Greece as a classical musician, studied experimental design, then did a master’s in textile and surface design in Berlin and later studied interior design. She has taught for many years, at the University of Kassel among others. Her studio sits in a 150-year-old former fire station in Wedding, and her workshops are about showing how much work goes into a small handmade object, and getting people away from their desks for a few hours. In the terrazzo workshop you mix your own pigments, build a colour palette and pour it into eco-friendly gypsum resin, then take home an object nobody else has, a coaster for example. Once you have made a small piece, you can come back for a larger terrazzo plate or even a side table. In the marble-effect workshop you pour, swirl and blend colours into a marbled tray and seal it. She mixes the formats in one session, so strangers often leave as friends. No experience needed, all materials included, with tea, coffee and snacks (wine on request). For teams she runs both formats privately, in her studio or at your office.
